Paestum Tour & Mozzarella Farm Visit

Day 12 | $200 per person

Join us today for an optional tour of Paestum, an ancient Greco-Roman city in the Campania region of southern Italy. Paestum—originally known as Poseidonia—was founded by Greeks in the 6th century BC then later colonized by the Romans in 273 BC. The Greeks constructed three magnificent temples throughout the city which are believed to be dedicated to the city’s namesake, Poseidon, Hera, and Ceres. Besides these three beautifully-preserved Doric Greek temples, the site also features the ruins of ancient houses and a museum of artifacts—all of which you will explore with an expert guide by your side.

Nowadays, this region is known for its delectable buffalo mozzarella cheese. On your way back to the Amalfi Coast this afternoon, stop at a mozzarella farm to learn the secrets of how the iconic soft cheese is made, then enjoy an included lunch there.
