Three Busy Months in East Africa: A Look Back with Sandra Vaughan
Between January and March 2025, Grand Circle Foundation distributed nearly $125,000 to support projects in Kenya and Tanzania—all thanks to the generosity of our travelers. We thank all our donors, as well as the regional associates who make the following projects possible.

As the end of March approaches, here is a quick recap on all Grand Circle Foundation has accomplished in East Africa since the beginning of 2025.
- Every one of our 10 schools received stationery supplies to kick start 2025.
- In Tanzania, all our children in Grade 7 received a solar study light, which they can use at home to read and do homework.
- In January, 34 children on scholarships went back to school or University.
- We renovated classrooms and a kitchen, and bought new uniforms for vulnerable students.
- We funded the building of two Early Years classrooms.
- We brought and delivered a much-needed photocopier to Chief Lobulo for Eluway Primary School.
- To commemorate World Water Day on March 22, the Foundation partnered with Wine to Water to distribute 152 life-saving water filters and conduct training on safe water to more than 110 families impacting more than 1,000 people.
- We also donated 40 filters to our four Foundation-supported schools, impacting more than 3,000 children and teachers.
- FACT: This ceramic water filter eliminates 99.99% of all known waterborne pathogens!
From all of us at Grand Circle Foundation, thank you—and here’s to the next nine months! All our projects are funded through generous donations from our amazing O.A.T. travelers.
