On this adventure, you have the following extensions to choose from:
5 nights Pre-trip
Follow the lovely Elbe to Dresden, which rose from the devastation of World War II to reclaim its Baroque beauty. We’ll witness 800 years of history, from half-timbered homes to the cantilevered Blue Wonder Bridge. In Wittenberg, we’ll follow the footsteps of Martin Luther to the church where he nailed his 95 Theses to the door. And we’ll end our discoveries with two nights in Berlin, walking Under the Linden Trees and crossing Checkpoint Charlie into the former East Germany.
5 nights Post-trip
The bounty of Austria is on full display as we explore its fabled wine country, beginning in Krems, where winemaking has been a tradition for seven centuries. Our discoveries include glittering Melk Abbey, perched above the Danube, which we’ll cruise to experience the Wachau Valley. We’ll immerse ourselves in local tradition at a vineyard and a family apricot farm. Our journey will conclude in Vienna, the City of Music, whose historic beauties we’ll discover on a guided tour.
