5 nights Pre-trip
The medieval city of Delft makes as indelible an impression as the deep blue of its famed ceramics. We’ll revel in that beauty in a three-night stay, learning more about Royal Delft Porcelain with a visit to its maker. Dutch ingenuity will be on full display when we explore the Storm Surge Barrier, which protects the low-lying nation. From Rembrandt’s lovely Leiden to the historic port town of Haarlem, the charms of quintessential Netherlands await.
5 nights Post-trip
Raise a glass to Bavaria, known for its storybook villages and for giving the world Octoberfest. We’ll follow a route alongside Swiss lakes and the castles of Lichtenstein on our way to the Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen for two nights. Bavaria’s treasures will unfold in a mountain gorge hike, and in visits to Lindenhof Palace and the passion play town of Oberammergau. Three nights in Munich, with a market visit and beer-tasting, will offer insight into the region’s culinary and cultural contributions.
