This optional tour visits Rocamadour, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with its religious significance, the improbable cliffside location and picturesque homes of Rocamadour have garnered it the top spot on a national list of favorite French villages. Upon arrival, you'll have discovery walk led by your Trip Experience Leader, then you'll meet a local artist. Later, we'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we'll return to our hotel.

Day 10 | $155 per person

2971a186ac60475eb92fb3ee014f468a

Travel from Carcassonne to the Salins de Gruissan for a guided visit, introducing you to the centuries-old tradition of salt harvesting, an activity that has shaped the economy and daily life of the Mediterranean coast since Roman times. Learn how the sea, wind, and sun work together to produce salt, a resource once known as “white gold.”

If the weather allows, you may also wish to enjoy some time walking among the salt flats and take in the distinctive coastal landscape. Your experience concludes with a light aperitif-style dinner featuring seafood and regional specialties, offering a taste of the culinary traditions of this part of France.
