Experience the history and culture of the Alentejo region of Portugal. Delve into the ancient Roman and Moorish roots of Évora, learn about Elvas’ famed aqueduct, stroll the flower-lined lanes of Castelo de Vide and drink from its pure public fountains, and visit the stud farm of Alter do Chao.

Portugal: Braga & Aveiro

5 nights Pre-trip

Discover the historic Portuguese cities of Braga and Aveiro as you reflect at the hillside church and sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, savor the distinctive port wines of Porto, visit a local porcelain factory and dine with the workers, and more.

Arrive Early

Expand your discoveries by spending one, two, three—or more—days abroad in the first destination on your pre-trip extension or main adventure. By arriving early, you’re able to rest after your long flight and acclimate to your new destination and time zone—or you can hit the ground running and explore on your own.

Choosing this option lets you take advantage of our lower group rates and includes your accommodations, private airport transfer, and daily breakfast. On this adventure, you can choose from the following options:

  • Arrive early in Braga before your pre-trip extension — Travel from $150 per room per night
  • Arrive early in Terceira Island before your main adventure — Travel from $70 per room per night

Air preferences

Many travelers choose to upgrade their seat en route to the first destination on their adventure to arrive more rested and ready to explore—you can choose to upgrade for your roundtrip flight, or just one-way.
