Your Hurtigruten coastal voyage ship is more than just your home on your Scandinavian adventure—it's a piece of Norwegian maritime history. The fleet includes modern 400- to 1,000-passenger Discovery-class ships, and a classic 554-passenger Nautical-class ship. A working vessel that also delivers cargo, this ship slips into narrow fjords and waterways that larger cruise ships cannot access, and is staffed with a crew who knows the intricacies of the Scandinavian waters by heart. Your small group of 20-25 travelers (average of 22) can relax in common areas— two bars and two dining rooms with open seating—to get to know one another on your voyage, and witness the majesty of Northern Europe's landscapes from one of the panoramic lounges. Complimentary wireless Internet is also available in all cabins and common areas, though connectivity may be limited at some points on your cruise.

The ships in Hurtigruten's fleet feature six passenger decks with a variety of public spaces, including panoramic lounges, two bars, and two dining rooms. Cabins are located on four of the levels, and each of the available categories offers its own advantages.

On Deck 4, you'll find the ship's open-seating restaurant, where you'll enjoy traditional Scandinavian fare. If you're looking for a quick snack, head to the cafeteria which includes a bar with beer, wine, and spirits for purchase. Feel free to head to the second bar on this deck for a night cap as well.

The Havila Kystruten ships (either the Havila Capella or Havila Castor), are shared charters, aboard which our small group of 20-25 (average of 22) will be accompanied by a local Trip Experience Leader and join other non-O.A.T. travelers, with dining space and cabins allotted to us. Half of the outside cabins feature one double bed, and the other half offer twin beds. All inside cabins offer two twin beds. And, all cabins feature private baths. While onboard, you’ll enjoy insightful discussions, traditional cuisine, and personal service. This ship is quiet, comfortable, eco-friendly, and purpose-built to traverse the Norwegian fjords.
