Optional Tours

During your trip, you will have the opportunity to join optional tours to further your discoveries—all of which are noted below. Most of these tours can only be reserved onsite with your Trip Experience Leader, however due to limited space and other special requirements, some optional tours must be reserved before your departure from the U.S. If this trip has optional tours that need to be purchased in advance, they will be noted with a disclaimer below.

Kayaking

$995 per person

80c67aa654ff440c9c86b05e0136ca7a

Navigate mazes of sea ice aboard a one- or two-person sea kayak. Prior to your excursion, you’ll be briefed on how to maneuver your craft and will be equipped with a spray-skirt, drysuit, insulated rubber gloves and pogies, a lifejacket, neoprene booties, and a drybag for your belongings. Then, you’ll travel by Zodiac to an ideal starting point, where you’ll transfer to your kayak and begin your journey. In a small group of fellow adventurers, you’ll paddle past glaciers and through narrow fjords—and may even have a chance to go ashore—with an experienced guide leading the way. A safety driver will also be close by to provide assistance if needed. Kayaking excursions last one to three hours.

Please note: Kayaks and protective wet gear are provided by the ship. Travelers are encouraged to wear warm clothing—including thermal base layers, a sweater, wool socks, a neck warmer, and a warm hat—as well as sun protection, including a brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Some previous kayaking experience is recommended, and agility and balance are required for transferring to the kayak and maneuvering with the paddle.

This optional tour is only available on select departures. Space is limited and must be reserved in advance. Please call for details.

$75 per person

Explore both halves of Iguassu National Park: the jungle and the waterfalls. Begin by entering the jungle on the Sendero Yacaratía trail, which offers sweeping panoramic views. After a short ride, arrive at the Puerto Macuco base and the floating dock where you'll board a motorboat for the second half of the tour. As you cruise through the Iguassu River Canyon, you'll encounter a few river rapids before reaching the calm side of San Martin Island. From there, you'll sail on for an up-close look at two of the park’s waterfalls—first to Tres Mosqueteros for a view of both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of Iguassu, and then to the largest and most impressive waterfall, San Martin.

Paddling excursion

$295 per person

Then, in a small group of no more than 10 paddlers, you’ll set off among icebergs and snow-dusted sea stacks with an experienced guide leading the way. A safety driver will also be close by to provide assistance if needed. Paddling excursions last a minimum of one hour.

Please note: Inflatable kayaks and protective wet gear are provided by the ship. Travelers are encouraged to wear warm clothing—including thermal base layers, a sweater, wool socks, a neck warmer, and a warm hat—as well as sun protection, including a brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
