Certificate Terms and Conditions
Redeeming your certificates
When booking your next trip with Grand Circle Travel or Overseas Adventure Travel, simply ask your Travel Counselor to apply your credits to your new reservations. All credits must be issued in your name. Credits are not applicable toward initial deposit and are not transferable. Expiration dates cannot be extended.
Frequent Traveler Certificates
- This certificate is not applicable toward initial deposit.
- This certificate is non-transferable.
- This certificate is not applicable toward the purchase of the trip for which you earned the credit or a trip departing prior to the trip for which you earned the credit
- Simply mention your Frequent Traveler Credit Certificate to your Travel Counselor when booking your next reservation. You may apply this certificate toward the purchase of any Grand Circle Travel or Overseas Adventure Travel trip.
- If you cancel the trip to which you apply this credit, your certificate will be automatically reissued with the same expiration date.
- If you move to a different departure of the trip for which you earned the credit, the availability of this certificate may change, depending on your new return date. Please check with your Travel Counselor regarding certificate validity if your return date changes.
- If you cancel the trip for which you earned the credit this certificate will become void.
- The value of the certificate will not be adjusted if the dollar amount of the trip for which you earn the credit changes.
- The value of the certificate is 5% of the Program Price (less any discounts), which may be applied to any Grand Circle Travel or Overseas Adventure Travel trip on which you depart within one year. After the first year, this credit is reduced to 3% and can only be applied to a trip departing on or before the expiration date. Frequent Traveler credits expire after two years
- This certificate is not applicable toward the purchase of a discounted trip booked within 120 days of departure.
- Group Leaders are not eligible to earn Frequent Traveler Credit on reservations for which they earned Group Leader Credit.
Vacation Ambassador Credit Certificates
- Certificate is not applicable toward initial deposit.
- Certificate is non-transferable.
- Simply mention your Vacation Ambassador Credit Certificate to your Travel Counselor when booking your next reservation, or mail in your certificate with your final payment.
- If you cancel your trip, we will reissue your certificate with the same expiration date. You may apply this certificate to the purchase of any Grand Circle Cruise Line, Grand Circle Travel, or Overseas Adventure Travel trip. You may not apply this certificate to a Grand Circle Foundation People-to-People trip.
- Expires two years after the date of issue.
- Certificate cannot be combined with Group Leader Discounts.
Vacation Ambassador Free Trip Certificates
- Free trip certificates are awarded when eight referred travelers depart in 2 calendar years. Certificates are issued on the fifth of the month after the eighth traveler has departed.
- Free trip certificates are valued at up to $4,500 per household.
- Free trip certificates are non-transferrable and can be taken as cash—tax deductible over $600. No refunds are awarded for any unused portion of the certificate.
- Free trip certificates replace the cash/credit you would have earned for referring an eighth traveler.
- Free trip certificates will be applicable to the open balance of the reservation sub-total line only.
- Travel Protection Plan is not included in the free trip. If you purchase our Travel Protection Plan, the price of the plan is based off the full price of the trip. The plan will cover the free trip and any cash paid additionally.
- If the free trip is canceled, it can be rebooked, provided it is still in the one-year booking/redemption window.
- Expires 2 years after date of issue.
Post-Trip Goodwill Certificate
- A certificate awarded to a traveler upon returning from a trip to put towards future travel.
- Expires one year after date of issue.
Goodwill Certificate
- A certificate awarded to a traveler at the discretion of O.A.T. and Grand Circle.
- Expires one year after date of issue.
Events Certificate
- A certificate awarded to select travelers who attended a Traveler Event.
- Valid for 2 years from the date of the event.
ACH Credit Voucher
- A certificate awarded over the phone when a traveler pays via ACH instead of getting a Good Buy Plan discount. These are used toward the purchase of Optional Tours sold onsite, gift shop items on Grand Circle-owned ships, or food onboard Grand Circle-owned ships.
- Expires the last day of the trip and cannot be extended.
Future Travel Certificate
- A certificate created from funds in which the traveler is not eligible for a cash refund, or opted to keep funds on file instead of a refund.
- Valid through 12/21/2023.
Travel Protection Voucher
- A reimbursement paid to the traveler in the form of a voucher. The Type 9 vouchers are issued by Grand Circle and cover trip cancellation when the passenger has cancelled a reservation for a non-covered reason. These vouchers can only be earned for cancellation.
- Valid for one year after approval claim date. The expiration date can be extended with an exception.
