A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

I love filmmaker Daniel Katanella’s use of time-lapse and hyper-lapse in this short film about the Chilean port city of Valparaiso. There is a dizzying, dream-like quality here, where sound and sight synthesize to create memory-like narratives. Kids sliding down a sloped concrete embankment. A restless man singing unabashedly in the street. An older man lovingly caressing his wife’s hair. Walls of political graffiti revealing a history of upheaval and turmoil. A woman navigating stairs with two canes. You see Katanella’s artistic interpretation of Valparaiso, but you also see the breadth of the human experience here … a gift to behold.

Produced by Daniel Katanella
