Music Voyager: Tokyo Electric City

Posted on 5/29/2018 12:00:00 AM in What We're Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

Music Voyager is a series that explores the cultural intricacies of a specific place primarily through its music. In this episode, host and music aficionado Jacob Edgar visits Tokyo, Japan and surrenders himself to the eccentricities of the inexhaustible city. He speaks with a J-Pop music producer, a jazz musician, a rapper, and even a fashion designer from the notorious Harajuku district. Each of these generative talents offers insight into what makes Tokyo a hub for creativity. One artist says that the city is full of potential and opportunities… after meeting the many extraordinary people in Music Voyager, I can’t help but to agree.
