A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
The archipelago of Svalbard is located about halfway between continental Norway and the North Pole. Though fewer than 3,000 people call Svalbard home, the islands are host to an impressive population of wildlife. In this collection of still photography, witness seabirds like guillemots and puffins nesting—and gulls interfering! Spy on arctic foxes. Let giants like polar bears and whales leave you awestruck. A fantastic record of a landscape, and its wild residents, worth preserving.
