Rudy Maxa: Stockholm and Sweden

Posted on April 11, 2017 in What We’re Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

Rudy Maxa’s Smart Travels series is always a delightful travel companion. In this episode, Rudy takes us to the sleek capital city of Stockholm, where we visit the Karl Milles sculpture museum, find out how Stockholm got its name, and learn an easy, delicious recipe for gravlax. We also meet some glass-blowers in the Kingdom of Crystal, a region in the south made up of five municipalities. We end our tour at the vacation island of Öland, home to ancient ruins and long stretches of sandy beaches. Nature, Rudy observes, figures prominently in the psyche of the Swedes. With forests and wide open spaces close by all metropolitan cities, how could it not?
