The Creative Soul of Marrakesh

Posted on 5/21/2019 12:00:00 AM in What We're Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

See Marrakesh through the eyes of a rapper, a photographer, and a fashion designer! Rap artist Two Tone brings us to visit a street vendor making traditional Moroccan cinnamon pancakes before heading away from the city center on palm tree-lined streets to Palmeraie, the “young, hip side of Marrakech.” Photographer Laila Hida and designer Artsi Ifrach deeply enjoy spending time working and sipping coffee looking out over the Medina. They walk us through the stalls of antique caftans at the women’s market, and take us to a public contemporary art space where they often gather with friends and share their work. Old haunts and new hotspots in the beautiful city of Marrakesh!
