Mystical Island of Ireland

A note from our curator, independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
This film by travel blogger Caspar Diederik is a beautifully shot, lyrical exploration of Ireland’s landscape and monuments. Set to a dramatic score by Ryan Taubert, stunning aerial footage of the cliffs of Western Ireland gives way to the lush green rolling hills that have rightfully given Ireland the nickname “Emerald Isle.” Produced as part of Caspar’s StoryTravelers project, the film takes us to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Skellig Michael, an other-worldly island that’s home to a medieval monastery. Fun fact: the most recent installment of the Star Wars films includes a breathtaking scene at Skellig Michael, and it’s easy to see why.
