Lions of Zimbabwe

Posted on 4/11/2017 2:27:00 PM in What We're Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

Once upon a time, lions roamed freely in Africa. Now they’re being pushed into smaller and smaller parcels of land, towards the vulnerabilities of extinction. They are also being pushed towards fearful locals. Consequently, humans are their greatest threat. This short film about the lions of Zimbabwe expresses why the extinction of lions will be harmful to the ecosystem. The film also brings up a question: How to reconcile the goals of the conservationists and the safety of the locals living on the outskirts of Zimbabwe’s nature preserves?
