Budapest: A City of Light

Posted on 9/11/2018 12:00:00 AM in What We're Watching

A note from our curator, independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

This aerial film showcases the serene beauty of Budapest as seen at night by city lights. The camera explores the metropolis on a macroscale by distancing itself from the stream of passersby below and instead focusing on the grand presence of structures such as the Hungarian Parliament and the Chain Bridge. The camera direction drifts: over the Danube River, up intricate spires, and around pedestalled statues. At night, architecture does seem to play a starring role. A calm vibrancy pervades this city, amidst the notion that these beautiful buildings are a driving force behind the bustle after sundown.
