A note from our curator, independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
In this episode of CNNGo we travel to Tokyo, Japan, with food writer and enthusiast Yukari Sakamoto to uncover some of the city’s culinary gems. These restaurants are tucked within quiet side streets, department store basements, and lively commercial centers. For patrons like Yukari, the experience involves all the senses: the smells of the sizzling tempura, the soothing sounds of nature embedded in the tables, and, of course, the exquisite flavors of the chefs’ creations. If you don’t speak Japanese, fear not: As long as you know the word omakase which means, “I’ll leave it to you,” the chef will make sure your dining experience is one to remember.
Sample these culinary delights for yourself when you join O.A.T. for Japan’s Cultural Treasures.
