Carole had a close call with a seal in Antarctica, mistaking it for a rock at first glance.

By Carole & Aaron M., 22-time travelers and 25-time Vacation Ambassadors from Baltimore, MD

What was your favorite trip and why?

We argue about that! Aaron's favorite was Egypt with O.A.T. He says there is no place like it in the world. My favorite trip was Inside Vietnam because it is so different from most of our other trips. We both agree on The Best of Kenya & Tanzania being a favorite as well. And Antarctica—we have been there twice. If someone said I could go tomorrow, I would go in a heartbeat. Then there was our trip to France and Normandy—extremely emotional and wonderful. I always reference that song that says, "If I'm not near the girl I love, I love the girl I'm near!" It's so hard to choose a favorite!

What’s your favorite/most successful way to refer a friend?

We talk about our travels and hand out the Vacation Ambassador cards. Aaron always carries the Ambassador cards. When we are sitting in a group of people chatting, travel always seems to come up. We always talk about Grand Circle and O.A.T. because those are the best experiences we have ever had.

What's your best memory from a trip?

When we were in Antarctica, we had just gotten off of the zodiac encumbered with all of our heavy clothing. I went to lean against a rock and right as I was about to sit down, it moved! Turns out it was an elephant seal. Our Trip Experience Leader warned me just in time.

Perhaps you’ll experience a memorable moment of your own during our Antarctica’s White Wilderness Small Ship Adventure.
