With our Irish Adventure: Dublin, Belfast & the Northwest Counties adventure on pause, O.A.T. Trip Experience Leaders Alistair and Brian have been keeping busy throughout the pandemic—and keeping each other company. Paired in a social “bubble,” the two have set out each week to explore beloved familiar places and make new discoveries in Northern Ireland. All told, they’ve made 70 excursions together—and Alistair has consumed just as many ice cream cones, his reward of choice after each walk.
One of these mini-adventures led Alistair and Brian to Cregagh Glen outside Belfast, “a wee gem of a place” where they discovered a memorial to American soldiers who fought alongside Northern Ireland during World War II. They found it so poignant, they couldn’t wait to share it with you in this video—and we’ll be adding it to our itinerary when we resume our travels in Ireland this September.
Like all our Trip Experience Leaders, Alistair and Brian can’t wait to welcome you back to their homeland. In the meantime, enjoy “meeting” them in the video above.
Visit Cregagh Glen yourself and see why the place is so special to Alistair and Brian when you join O.A.T. for Irish Adventure: Dublin, Belfast & the Northwest Counties adventure.
