Customize your trip

With our True Choice Program, you can choose to stay longer before or after your trip on your own, or combine two adventures to maximize your value. Here are more ways to create the OAT adventure that’s right for you:

  • Choose our standard air routing, or work with us to select the airline and routing you prefer
  • Make your own international flight arrangements directly with the airline, applying frequent flyer miles if available
  • Stay overnight in a connecting city before or after your trip
  • Request to arrive a few days early to get a fresh start on your adventure
  • Choose to “break away” before or after your trip, spending additional days or weeks on your own
  • Extend your adventure with our optional pre- and post-trip extensions
  • Combine your choice of OAT adventures to maximize your value
  • Upgrade to business or premium economy class

The air options listed above will involve an additional fee of $100 per person for confirmed requests (as well as incremental airfare costs based on your specific choice). This service fee will be waived for Inner Circle/Sir Edmund Hillary Club members.

Or, when you make your reservation, you can choose our standard air routing, for which approximate travel times are shown below.

Optional Tours

Expand your discoveries with our optional tours

Day 4:
Ayutthaya & Ancient Siam $55 per person
T15712

Join us on an afternoon tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the capital of Thailand for nearly 500 years and was home to 33 kings from many different dynasties. After lunch at a local restaurant, we take a memorable cruise on a motorized “long tail” boat—so named for its long, thin design. We disembark at Wat Chai Wattanaram, where we tour the beautiful temple ruins, set in a tranquil green park. Next we continue on to Wat Mongkol Bophit, which houses the largest seated bronze Buddha statue in Thailand. Later, we have a chance to walk around the local market with a variety of products. Finally, our tour finishes with a stop at an elephant camp to visit with Thailand’s national animal. We may even be able to feed some of these amazing and endangered animals before returning to Bangkok.

Day 11:
Cyclo-Rickshaw Ride with Dinner & Traditional Puppet Show $55 per person
T17538

Enjoy the open air and sites of the narrow streets of the city the way the locals do as you explore by cyclo-rickshaw. Your destination is a local theater, where you’ll watch a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show, Mua Roi Nuoc, which uses water for the stage and depicts humorous tales from Vietnamese folklore.

Day 17:
Banteay Srei $65 per person

Visit Banteay Srei, one of the oldest and most beautifully preserved temple sites in Cambodia. Built in AD 967, Banteay Srei means “Citadel of Women,” and it is recognized as a tribute to the beauty of women. The structures here have been carved in painstaking detail out of  sandstone. Amazingly, the detail is as intricate as a woven tapestry, a testament to the craft of the original artisans. We'll visit the temple, which is set like a gem in a seemingly enchanted forest, before stopping to visit a palm sugar village and enjoy an included dinner.
