    Travel + Leisure Magazine's 2010 World's Best List

Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel Are Among Travel + Leisure’s 2010 World’s Best Tour Operators & Safari Outfitters

     T+L 2010

BOSTON—Alan Lewis, Grand Circle Corporation chairman, today announced that Travel + Leisure readers have rated Grand Circle’s two travel companies—Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel, as among the world’s best tour operators and safari outfitters. Reader survey results of Travel + Leisure’s 2010 World’s Best Awards, which uncover readers’ favorite hotels, cruise lines, airlines, cities, islands, tour operator/safari outfitters and car-rental agencies, are featured in the magazine’s August issue.

“We are honored to be included in Travel + Leisure’s 2010 World’s Best Awards and grateful to our travelers for taking the time to share their experiences of us,” said Lewis. “We are committed to bringing our travelers into local homes, schools, villages and communities when they travel with us so that they can meet people and get a first hand look at other cultures and ways of life—and to offer these experiences at unparalleled value. Being recognized by Travel + Leisure readers makes us confident that we are on the right path and encourages us to continue our efforts on behalf of our travelers,” said Lewis.

Overseas Adventure Travel, which offers international small group adventures for Americans over 50, has once again been included in the Top 20 listing of World’s Tour Operators — for the eighth time in nine years. Grand Circle Travel, the 52-year-old leader in international travel and discovery for Americans over 50, also made the list for the second time in three years, with readers being asked to rank tour operators’ staff/guides, itineraries/destinations, activities, accommodations, food, and value.

Established in 1958, Grand Circle Corporation is the leader in international travel, adventure, and discovery for Americans age 50 and older with anticipated $600M in sales for 2010. Headquartered in Boston, Mass., the company has 36 offices throughout Asia, the South Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and Africa. Between Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel, the company offers more than 80 soft adventure programs, extended stay vacations, escorted tours, river cruises, and small ship adventures in more than 60 countries. Grand Circle’s non profit Grand Circle Foundation has donated or pledged $50 million to educational, humanitarian, and cultural organizations since 1992. Currently, it provides support to close to 100 (96) schools in 60 villages in 30 countries.

Travel + Leisure, published monthly by American Express Publishing Corporation, is the world's leading travel magazine with a circulation of close to one million. Survey results are featured in the August issue of Travel + Leisure and online at www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest.
