If a visa is required for your adventure, we will send you a detailed packet with the necessary visa applications, instructions explaining how to fill out the applications, and the visa fees. We will mail this approximately 100 days prior to your departure. If you have purchased your adventure inside of 100 days from departure, then we will mail your visa packet on the first business day after you made your reservation.
The following list shows which OAT adventures will require a visa. If your adventure is not on the list, then you do not require a visa. The information below is applicable to US citizens traveling with a US passport. If you are not a US citizen, or if you do not travel with a US passport, this information may not apply to you. In this case, you should contact the appropriate embassies to check on visa regulations. Africa
Namibia & the Skeleton Coast: Africa's Last Wilderness: A visa is required for Zimbabwe during the optional extension to Victoria Falls, but not for the main trip or any other extension.
Out of Africa: Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya & Tanzania : Visas are required for Kenya, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, which are visited on the main trip.
Safari Serengeti: Tanzania Lodge & Tented Safari : A visa is required for Tanzania, which we visit on the main trip.
The Best of Kenya & Tanzania : A visa is required for Kenya and Tanzania. A visa is also required for Zimbabwe during the optional extension to Victoria Falls.
