Although I haven’t traveled extensively throughout Central America, the time I have spent in the beautiful countries of Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Honduras, and Belize, have proven to me how much natural magnificence this region of the world has to offer. And it’s an observation I hear frequently from OAT travelers who have also visited Central America: They’re taken by each country’s diverse wildlife and vastly different landscapes.
But the theme I hear most often from these travelers is how much their adventures are enhanced by the knowledge and help of their Trip Leaders. Here, Marcia & Marvin B., Peter P., Douglas E., and William J. rave about the expert guidance of their Trip Leaders during their trips to Central America …
Our Real Affordable Costa Rica adventure was our second OAT experience, and we were not disappointed. We were placed with an exceptional Trip Leader, Giovanni Comparaz, a conscientious bus driver, and twelve fellow travelers who were a delight. Because Giovanni was knowledgeable, personable, organized, enthusiastic, and humorous, we all had memorable experiences.

After returning from my Real Affordable Costa Rica trip with my Trip Leader, Edwin Arce, I must compliment OAT on your efforts at the San Francisco School. Costa Rica is a country with a great attitude regarding education, but OAT’s support has certainly helped this school as well. Out of all of my OAT school experiences, this was surely the best. The school presentation and interaction with the students were wonderful.

My Route of the Maya adventure was a great trip: The countries visited were interesting, with unique cultures, friendly people, good food, and outstanding scenery and cultural sites. Our Trip Leader, Hector Franco, provided excellent information throughout the trip, and was always ready to go above and beyond for us. This is a trip for a traveler, not a tourist, and it provided new experiences daily. It was a very worthwhile adventure, and one that I’m glad that I took.

Every day of my Panama trip was an adventure. The food was terrific and the lodgings were wonderful. The time we spent aboard our ship—the Discovery—was superb, and nobody wanted to leave! Our Trip Leader, Ana Quinonez, was outstanding—simply the best. She was well-organized, always had a smile on her face, and she always provided little extra things to make our trip more enjoyable. It’s obvious that Ana loves her job. The pre-trip to Bocas del Toro is a must! Consider taking this extension if you’ve already booked your Panama trip. I’d head back to Panama and do it all again in a heartbeat!
