As I mentioned last month, we’re firmly committed to making sure that Egypt remains a popular destination for our travelers. That’s why Alan and I are so proud to be among the very first travel companies to have returned to Egypt, thanks to the encouragement of our Egyptian Trip Leaders, associates in OAT’s Cairo office, and our dear friends living in the country, who have expressed, “Come now and experience the bright new days of Egypt.”
We embarked on our first departures back to Egypt on March 15, and many of our travelers were eager to share their impressions and experiences in the country post-revolution. Here are a few of their comments:
“One of the advantages of the timing is that we essentially had the country to ourselves! Sites that would normally be crowded were not.”

“We felt entirely safe throughout the trip. Any hesitations that we had prior to arrival in Egypt quickly disappeared once we joined up with our fellow travelers and met our Trip Leader ... The local Egyptians were very welcoming and friendly. They are proud of their revolution and enjoyed talking about it with us.”

“I expected Egypt to be fascinating, exotic, historic, and compelling ... the trip surpassed my expectations. The Egyptians I met are proud of their heritage and were eager to share this with visitors ... I was as comfortable as I have been in any foreign country.”

“It was especially exciting to be there at such a pivotal time in Egypt’s history. Our host family explained how the change resulted in electricity for them, which will benefit their children’s learning ... I felt very safe as an American. People stopped us when we were speaking English and said how happy they were to see us.”

“Egypt was more than we expected, we were very glad we went ... Egyptians were proud to share their country with us and they wanted us to be there.”
