Well, I've finally done it ... I'm thrilled to announce I now have my very own Facebook page!
With the ever-expanding nature of the Internet and new technology constantly being introduced, the idea of what a “community” is has changed. Today, a community is no longer just your neighborhood or the region where you live. It’s online, too. Regardless of where you reside, you can now log onto your computer to meet, connect, and share almost anything with like-minded people, or to stay in touch with family and friends.
Passionate travelers just like you have embraced online communities like Facebook, travel forums, and others to share their experiences from their adventures abroad. Some people create websites to showcase stories and photos from their trips with OAT, while others use websites like YouTube to show off self-produced videos. However travelers use the Internet, their common goal is the same: to stay connected with their family, friends, and fellow travelers.
One great way to stay in touch with loved ones is through the social networking site Facebook. Many OAT travelers already have their own profiles that allow them to do just that, as well as share important events going on in their lives. So I thought it was time for me to join the Facebook community, too, to stay better connected with all of you. I’ll be posting stories about my recent travels, as well as thoughts about what’s going on around the world. I also plan to update my photo albums with pictures from many of my adventures and daily activities—including life with my husband Alan; pictures of my children Edward and Charlotte; travels with my friends; and of course, images of some of the wonderful events held by—and my work with—Grand Circle Foundation.
I encourage you to share your thoughts and photos with me as well. I love hearing about your trips and experiences as you encounter everything this world has to offer. Join me on Facebook so we can talk about all things travel … and more!
You can connect, learn, and share with me—and other OAT travelers—by visiting my Facebook page.
