A Very Special Event for Women
On June 4, Alan and I invited more than 250 of our best women travelers to join us at a special gathering on our family property in Kensington, New Hampshire. The goal of this gathering was not to sell trips. By asking these women for their honest feedback, we wanted them to help us become a better company.
I asked our guests to send me their comments before we met in New Hampshire, and I enjoyed reading every one of them—from suggestions about this website to candid feedback about our phone service. We held focus groups to discuss their suggestions further, and I truly believe that with their help, we’ve learned how to make OAT a better company to do business with.
Not all feedback was about business, though, and one woman, Ursula Clark, especially touched my heart. “I do not have a computer,” she wrote. “My son showed me your website. I also do not have any education, yet I have been to all seven continents. I got my education through travel—it is like a miracle to me.” I invited Ursula to join me on stage, and you can view a photo of us—and other images of our special gathering—here.
I’ve also posted some nice feedback I received about the day in Travel Talk. I’m glad to hear our special guests enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
