A Mother’s Day Message
Travel is an invaluable gift to give to our children—and I view traveling with my own children as a gift to myself as well, because I can see the world again through younger, wider eyes. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about my family, and how great it is that we’re all continuing to grow together—both as a family, and as individuals—with every new journey we take.
I just returned from a trip to Israel with my husband Alan, daughter Charlotte, and son Edward—and maybe it was the influence of younger, fresher minds (Alan’s notwithstanding!), but while we were there I decided to try something new. With Charlotte behind the camera, I recorded my very first video message to OAT travelers from the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Be gentle: I don’t think we’ll be winning any cinematography awards just yet—but I thought it’d be a special way to share a moment of my travels with you.

Do you take videos of your OAT travels? Someday, I’d love to be able to share them on Harriet’s Corner—send them to me at:

From my family to yours, whether you’re a mother, a daughter, a caregiver, or simply someone who loves, happy Mother’s Day—and, as always, happy travels.
